Dr. Locher grew up in Amesbury, Massachusetts, a small
seacoast town north of Boston. After
living out west, he and his wife have been slowly making their way to the
Midwest, and are thrilled to be close to family in Glenview and close to where his wife, Rita, spent her childhood. Dr. Locher
did his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina Asheville, where
he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and
Molecular Biology. Dr. Locher attended
the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois, where he was
active in the Wildlife Medical Clinic. When not practicing veterinary medicine he enjoys cycling, snowboarding,
fishing and gardening, but is generally most happy doing almost anything outdoors,
especially chasing his daughters Maeve, and Georgia. Dr. Locher has a
mixed breed dog, named Baska, a grey tabby named Chicken, and a hamster named
Gus.
Morgan, our head Veterinary Technician, grew up in Detroit Michigan and attended Michigan State University. While she was in school, Morgan spent her first summer participating in an externship at Potter Park Zoo. During this externship she had the opportunity to help raise baby Emus! Her second externship was right here in Illinois at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center. She graduated with degrees in Zoology and Veterinary Technology. She relocated to Chicago when she started at Christensen Animal Hospital and has been with us since 1998. The incredible medicine and service provided to each and every patient is what brought Morgan to Christensen. In what spare time she has, Morgan, spends time with her husband, David, her beautiful three-year old daughter, Olivia, and her lovable cat, Gracie!

Sheri moved to our area from Otter Lake, MI and attended Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent about ten weeks at a koala hospital in Australia where she helped in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of koalas and would love return someday! She became a Veterinary Technician here at Christensen in 2009 to help provide proper care for and over see the well-being of our four-legged friends. She loves spending time with her husband, Layne, watching movies, reading, video gaming, and doing anything animal related. She has a yellow Lab, Luke, and a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix, Gizmo Gremlin.

Carolyn grew up in the Northwest suburb of Des Plaines, IL. She went to Monmouth College where she graduated with a degree in Biology. After finishing her degree she participated in an internship in the marine mammal department at the Shedd Aquarium. She had the opportunity to participate in training sessions alongside the animal keepers with the beluga whales, sea lions, and dolphins at the aquarium. Carolyn pursued her excitement for working with animals and joined us at Christensen in August 2011. She hopes to someday work as a trainer in a zoo or aquarium and join a graduate program in the field of animal science of conservation. During her free time Carolyn enjoys spending time with her Border Collie/Australian Cattle dog mix, Fergie, and her Dutch rabbit, Lupin.
Marilyn grew up in the small town of

Sam comes to us from West
Branch, Iowa. She went to Kirkwood Community
College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she graduated with a degree in Veterinary
Assisting. She hopes to continue her education in Project Management for animal
welfare non-profit organizations. Having previously worked at a doggy daycare
and boarding facility in Iowa,
she relocated to the Chicago area to join us here at Christensen to pursue a
career helping pets and their owners. During her free time she enjoys spending
time at the local dog parks with her Australian Cattle Dog, Scarlet.
As one of our caretakers here at Christensen, John truly puts his heart and soul into caring for our patients and loves every minute of it! John is one of the dedicated staff members who spends nights, and weekends here with our boarders making sure they are all well-fed, clean, and happily resting while they spend their time here. A native of Chicago and graduate of Foreman High School, John has been with us at Christensen for two and a half years! In his free time when he isn’t taking care of our patients he enjoys playing and watching any sport and spending time with his eleven year-old daughter Gaby.

Our newest caretaker, Doug, comes to us with a positive attitude and desire to succeed in the field of veterinary medicine. He has worked at a variety of jobs from working at a daycare center to doing construction at Eastman Chemical Company. Doug travels to us from Lake Bluff, IL. He loves spending his time with our patients who stay here and taking them for walks. Doug has already proven to be a great member of the team here at Christensen and we look forward to teaching him more and watching him grow!
Thank you Christensen Animal Hospital for finding me the best home!!! Kissies to all of you! Love Always, Elway, your 'Poodle' boy
Pretty cheeky guy, my new friend
He is our friend, our partner, our defender, Casey. We are his life, his love, his leader. He will be ours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. We owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
This is Rosey, previously known as Corky. She came to our hospital when her owner wanted to euthanize her because she was peeing in the house. Dr. Moll decided to save her and try to treat her. So far she is doing well and has gone to a new home. She comes back once in a while to visit for boarding. UPDATE: CORKY IS NOW EMPLOYED HERE AT CHRISTENSEN ANIMAL HOSPITAL AS A FULL-TIME PAPER WEIGHT. (SHE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO US IN JULY, AND WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!)
