Welcome to the Christensen Animal Hospital and Kennels! We are a full-service veterinary hospital located in Wilmette, Illinois. Be sure to check our website regularly since we are continually implementing the latest treatments and technologies, so there’s always something new to share.

Our high-tech, high-touch veterinary facility is located in a scenic, park-like setting just minutes away from Interstate 94. While here, we are equipped to meet and exceed your expectations by providing a wide variety of services, all in one spot.

    Jeffrey R Moll, DVM, Fellow VSLS

    Dr. Moll is a lifelong resident of the North Shore. He grew up in Skokie and attended Niles East High School. He completed his undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Moll has done graduate work in Reproductive Physiology & Neuroendrocrinology. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with honors from the University of Illinois in 1987. He has continued to expand his knowledge base through advanced training, continuing education and experience in laser surgery, minimally invasive surgery, diagnostic ultrasonography, orthopedic surgery, and endoscopy. He is the past President of the Veterinary Society of Laser Surgeons and remains an active member. Through his desire to expand his knowledge of laser surgery, in particular, he has written two published book chapters on the clinical use of lasers in veterinary surgery and has also taught this topic on multiple occasions including at the two largest national veterinary conferences. At home Dr. Moll enjoys spending time with his wife, Jodi, daughter, Rebecca, three dogs: Doogie, Oliver, and Beau, and their cat, Lucky.

  • Joshua Locher, DVM

    Joshua Locher, DVM

    Dr. Locher grew up in Amesbury, Massachusetts, a small seacoast town north of Boston. After living out west, he and his wife have been slowly making their way to the Midwest, and are thrilled to be close to family in Glenview and close to where his wife, Rita, spent her childhood. Dr. Locher did his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina Asheville, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Dr. Locher attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois, where he was active in the Wildlife Medical Clinic. When not practicing veterinary medicine he enjoys cycling, snowboarding, fishing and gardening, but is generally most happy doing almost anything outdoors, especially chasing his daughters Maeve, and Georgia.  Dr. Locher has a mixed breed dog, named Baska, a grey tabby named Chicken, and a hamster named Gus.

    Morgan Jackson, CVT

    Morgan, our head Veterinary Technician, grew up in Detroit Michigan and attended Michigan State University. While she was in school, Morgan spent her first summer participating in an externship at Potter Park Zoo. During this externship she had the opportunity to help raise baby Emus! Her second externship was right here in Illinois at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center. She graduated with degrees in Zoology and Veterinary Technology. She relocated to Chicago when she started at Christensen Animal Hospital and has been with us since 1998. The incredible medicine and service provided to each and every patient is what brought Morgan to Christensen.   In what spare time she has, Morgan, spends time with her husband, David, her beautiful three-year old daughter, Olivia, and her lovable cat, Gracie!

    Sheri Bodily, CVT

    Sheri moved to our area from Otter Lake, MI and attended Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent about ten weeks at a koala hospital in Australia where she helped in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of koalas and would love return someday! She became a Veterinary Technician here at Christensen in 2009 to help provide proper care for and over see the well-being of our four-legged friends. She loves spending time with her husband, Layne, watching movies, reading, video gaming, and doing anything animal related. She has a yellow Lab, Luke, and a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix, Gizmo Gremlin.

    Leah Key, CVT

    Leah, our newest certified veterinary technician is a native Midwesterner, growing up in Indiana. Leah graduated from Catholic University and Northern Virginia Community College, and upon graduation returned to Midwest after spending the past nine years living on the east coast. Leah was drawn to work at Christensen Animal Hospital by the opportunity to become a great technician! When she is not caring for patients, Leah enjoys movies, cultural events, festivals, and concerts.  Leah also enjoys spending time with her horse, Taliid, an Arabian.

    Carolyn Chrzastowski, Veterinary Assistant

    Carolyn grew up in the Northwest suburb of Des Plaines, IL. She went to Monmouth College where she graduated with a degree in Biology. After finishing her degree she participated in an internship in the marine mammal department at the Shedd Aquarium. She had the opportunity to participate in training sessions alongside the animal keepers with the beluga whales, sea lions, and dolphins at the aquarium.  Carolyn pursued her excitement for working with animals and joined us at Christensen in August 2011. She hopes to someday work as a trainer in a zoo or aquarium and join a graduate program in the field of animal science of conservation.  During her free time Carolyn enjoys spending time with her Border Collie/Australian Cattle dog mix, Fergie, and her Dutch rabbit, Lupin.

    Marilyn Cuevas, Practice Manager

    Marilyn grew up in the small town of Cary, IL. She graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in History. She had originally wanted to pursue a career as a human physician but her passion for animals led her to a career in veterinary medicine instead. While she was attending school she spent four years working as a Veterinary Technician. She completed Practice Management School through VMC in Denver, CO September of 2011. Shortly after she joined our team at Christensen to pursue more adventures in the field of veterinary medicine! Marilyn spends many hours here at Christensen helping to make our clinic the best! Her helpful manner and hard working personality makes her a perfect fit as our practice manager. When she isn’t with us at the clinic she loves to spend time painting, crafting, and gardening. She also enjoys relaxing at home with her two Chihuahuas, Bruce Lee Wonton, and Barbie, and her two cats Machu Pichu, and Ella Bella.

    Henry grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago.  He graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.  Henry decided to join the veterinary field in August of 2011, as a Practice Manager of a 4 Dr. Veterinary Office in Culver City, California.  In December of 2012 he to return back to the Chicagoland area, and join Christensen Animal Hospital.  Henry has three dogs (Midnite, Daphne and Jeff) that he loves playing with during his spare time.

    Our newest Animal Care Coordinator Lynda, although originally from the South relocated back to the Chicago area with her family for her husband's work with the U.S. Navy. Lynda is a graduate of American Intercontinental University with a degree in Business Administration. When she was a child, she wanted to become a veterinarian and was drawn to Christensen Animal Hospital by the opportunity to help animals. When she isn't helping coordinate care for our patients, she enjoys playing her mellophone and spending time with her husband Alex, and young son Alex Jr.

    Sam comes to us from West Branch, Iowa. She went to Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she graduated with a degree in Veterinary Assisting. She hopes to continue her education in Project Management for animal welfare non-profit organizations. Having previously worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility in Iowa, she relocated to the Chicago area to join us here at Christensen to pursue a career helping pets and their owners. During her free time she enjoys spending time at the local dog parks with her Australian Cattle Dog, Scarlet.

    John Zwolfer, Animal Caretaker

    As one of our caretakers here at Christensen, John truly puts his heart and soul into caring for our patients and loves every minute of it! John is one of the dedicated staff members who spends nights, and weekends here with our boarders making sure they are all well-fed, clean, and happily resting while they spend their time here. A native of Chicago and graduate of Foreman High School, John has been with us at Christensen for two and a half years! In his free time when he isn’t taking care of our patients he enjoys playing and watching any sport and spending time with his eleven year-old daughter Gaby.

    Doug McKimmy, Animal Caretaker

    Our newest caretaker, Doug, comes to us with a positive attitude and desire to succeed in the field of veterinary medicine. He has worked at a variety of jobs from working at a daycare center to doing construction at Eastman Chemical Company.  Doug travels to us from Lake Bluff, IL.  He loves spending his time with our patients who stay here and taking them for walks. Doug has already proven to be a great member of the team here at Christensen and we look forward to teaching him more and watching him grow!
